Moving people and teams between Berlin and Dubai

We recruit, relocate and settle professionals in Germany and the UAE. Employers get a mobility partner who knows both permit systems. The people moving get a plan for their first ninety days.

Two cities, two rulebooks, one team handling both

Linden & Dune takes its name from the linden avenues of German cities, Unter den Linden in Berlin above all, and from the dunes outside Dubai. Those are the two places we move people between. We handle recruitment, visas and residence permits, housing, school places and the first weeks of work, on both sides and in both directions.

We work for two audiences at once. Employers need hires who arrive on time, with the right permit, ready to start. The people being hired need someone to tell them which office to visit first, what to bring and how long it will take. We plan for both, because a relocation that works for the payroll but fails the family rarely lasts.

Who we work with

Technology and software
Engineering, data and product roles where demand outruns local supply. Many candidates qualify for the EU Blue Card, and we check that early.
Engineering and energy
Project engineers, technicians and site leads for infrastructure, utilities and renewables. Regulated professions may need Anerkennung before work can begin.
Healthcare and life sciences
Clinicians, researchers and laboratory staff. Professional licensing and recognition take time, so we plan them in from the first conversation.
Finance and professional services
Advisory, finance and compliance professionals moving between European and Gulf offices, often with families and school-age children.
Logistics, aviation and hospitality
Operational and management roles in sectors where Dubai and Germany are both major hubs and teams move often between them.

How a move runs with us

Every engagement follows the same four stages. The detail changes with the person, the permit and the city.

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at the role, the person and the family together and confirm the permit route before anyone books a flight. Gaps in documents or qualifications show up here.

  2. 2

    Plan

We agree a timeline with HR and the employee, with named owners for each step. Embassy appointments, recognition procedures and notice periods set the pace.

  3. 3

    Move

We prepare files, book appointments, find housing and arrange schools. The employee has one contact who knows the case.

  4. 4

    Settle

For the first ninety days we stay close: registration, banking, insurance, the residence permit and the questions nobody thought to ask in advance.

The kind of work we take on

Building an engineering team in Berlin from several countries

Situation
A software company is hiring a group of engineers from outside the EU for its Berlin office and wants them to start within one quarter.
Our work
We screen candidates for EU Blue Card eligibility, prepare visa files for the German missions involved, book Ausländerbehörde appointments and arrange temporary apartments so each Anmeldung can happen on arrival.
What the client keeps
A hiring plan the client can repeat, a permit file per engineer and new hires who arrive registered, insured and ready to start.

Opening a Dubai office with staff transferring from Germany

Situation
A German engineering firm is opening a Dubai office and transferring a small team, several with partners and children.
Our work
We coordinate MOHRE work permits and residence visas, Emirates ID applications and family sponsorship, search for housing and register tenancies through Ejari, and support school applications.
What the client keeps
A team living and working legally in Dubai, families with school places, and an assignment policy the firm can use for the next transfer.

Rewriting a mobility policy for two markets

Situation
A mid-sized group moves people between Germany and the UAE but handles every case differently, which leads to complaints and unplanned cost.
Our work
We review recent cases, interview HR and managers, and draft a tiered policy with employee guides for each country, working alongside the client's tax and legal advisers.
What the client keeps
A written policy HR can apply consistently, clear employee guides and a cost template finance can use before approving a move.

Moving should be the easy part of a new job

People move countries for work because the job is worth it. The paperwork, the flat search and the school applications are the price of that decision, and they too often fall on the employee alone. We think employers who recruit internationally owe their hires a properly organised arrival.

Germany and the UAE are both opening their doors to skilled workers, through reforms such as the Skilled Immigration Act in Germany and long-term residence options such as the UAE Golden Visa. We want to be the firm that makes those routes work in practice, for the company and for the person who has just landed with two suitcases.

Where we work

Berlin

Germany

European headquarters: talent acquisition, German immigration and onboarding for arrivals in Germany.

Our Berlin team works in the city where many of the people we place will live, among the linden-lined streets the firm is named after. They know the Bürgeramt queues, the rental market and which international schools have waiting lists.

Dubai

United Arab Emirates

Gulf office: UAE work permits and residence visas, relocation into the Emirates and support for moves towards Germany.

Our Dubai team sits close to the free zones and business districts where many international employers are based. They handle Emirates ID appointments, Ejari registrations and school applications regulated by the KHDA.

The mobility brief

Every two weeks we summarise changes to German and UAE immigration rules, permit procedures and labour regulation, drawn from official sources and written for HR teams.
